Summer Shoes

I got some new summer shoes! I wore them for the first time yesterday, even though it’s not technically summer yet. This summer, I was looking for something comfortable. In the past, it was just about looks, but I’ve found that I really like comfortable shoes. That’s a sign of age, isn’t it?

Anyway, I found some sneakers that are comfortable and good looking. But what I like most about them is that they make my feet look freakishly small. I giggle every time I look down. How fun!

In this picture, the heels of the shoes are even with each other. Look how short! And they don’t feel small either. It’s weird.
In the interest of full disclosure, I should say that the shoe on the left is a bigger size.

I got these shoes Tuesday, after I had been gardening. My gardening hat has an elastic band that leaves dents in my forehead. At one point, I was looking at my shoes in the mirror, and I noticed I still had pronounced dents. I had dents in public! Ack!
I don't know why my eyes are so bloodshot. Maybe shoe shopping does that to me?

I have forehead dents all the time. I’m looking into Botox.

I love your shoes! I think dark shoes make feet look smaller anyway, so now it’s like you have pygmy feet!

My swim cap leaves dents too.

[By what superhero moniker would you now like to be referred to: DentHead Man or MicroFoot?]

I desperately need new foot coverings as well and never make/take/have the time during the school year to really look for that awesome combination of style and comfort (yes, that is a sign of aging, by the way). Maybe this summer……..can there be a shoe off in August – competition for the best of all the new shoes anyone has purchased since June? That might give me more motivation to act. Just sayin’…

Everyone probably just thought you were very surprised.

Love the new summer shoes!! I just hope you’re still within the proper height to base ratio now….. I’d hate to hear that you keep toppling over.

And I love the picture of you….HA! How do you manage to take such cool shots of yourself? (Also, dent head….be thankful you don’t have a face full of sun bumps, that itch, that you’ve scratched to the point of bleeding….do you know anywhere that sells burkas? )

PS….Have you abandoned getting flip-flops as summer shoes?

    • Brad

Yes, I’ve abandoned flip-flops. For now. I like wearing shoes because then I’m ready for any eventuality. I mean, I certainly couldn’t take on a KGB agent wearing flip-flops…

Never take your hat off. That’s what I do.

      Hehe…..you funny!
