Switched

My classroom has two light switches – one by each door. When the lights are off, the switches are in the same position. I like them to be down when the lights are off. If they are up, it’s unnatural. Sometimes during the school day I will ask a student to turn off the lights if I am using the projector. If a different student from the other side of the room turns the lights back on, the switches are wonky, and suddenly, we have a switch-up, lights-off situation.

At the end of the school day, if there’s a problem, I always take the time to walk from switch to switch until things are set right. I can’t deal with the oddness of out-of-sync switches.

Switch down, light on.

Switch down, light on.

Switch up, light off.

Switch up, light off.

Ha ha ha and hee hee hee, who’s a little OCD?

I never really thought about this before, but I think sometimes my kitchen switches (there are two) are off. Must go check…….

    They are ok. *whew*

I like the interesting angles of those photos, by the way.

I think in the future, you will no longer be able to make fun of me and my OCD. 🙂

Then you’re really going to love what a student who is doing hi9s electrician’s apprenticeship now just told me – “code” now says all grounding plugs in outlets must be on the top, not the bottom. Just not right…
