My friends Mike and Sarah are in town this week. I haven’t seen them for years and years! Yesterday, they were planning on doing some Inner Harbor sight-seeing with their kids. They invited me to join them. I didn’t get out of the house in time to join them for the tour of Fort McHenry. I did, however, get there in time for lunch at Vaccaro’s. For those of you that don’t know, Vaccaro’s is a restaurant in Little Italy that only serves dessert. We had dessert for lunch! Woo hoo!
After lunch, we walked the Inner Harbor a little. One of the kids had to go to the bathroom, so we went to Barnes and Noble. It just so happened that there was some kind of Lego competition going on. Kids were supposed to build some kind of vehicle, and somehow a winner would be chosen, and some kind of prize would be awarded (it didn’t sound like the people running it had thought things through very well). Some other kid won, but everybody got to keep what they had built, so that was cool.
Before they headed back to their hosts’ house, everybody stopped by my house to meet Gus. It was really fun to see the kids’ reactions.
A restaurant that only serves desserts. That’s where I shall die and go to heaven.
What a delightful day! I’m glad Gus is kid-friendly. 🙂
If you come to Seward, you can steal as many Legos from Sam as you can carry and I’m sure he’ll never notice the difference.
There’s a Vacarro’s right around the corner from me….I don’t really go there for some reason….I must be crazy!
And way to go Gus with the kids! You’re obviously a gentleman!
