It’s so HOT. If it were just 98 degrees, that would be bad enough, but it’s humid too. Heat indexes are around 110. Yesterday I really intended to paint some more. Really. But it was so HOT.
I met Peggy for lunch at Gino’s, which was delightfully air-conditioned. After lunch, I stopped at Staples.
A few days ago at a restaurant, the pen the server gave me to sign the check with was amazingly smooth and fluid. I loved it, and I took note of it. It was called “Velocity” by Bic. I decided this would be my grading pen this year.
Staples had it in stock! Woo hoo! I usually use a 0.7 thickness for my grading pens, and this is 1.6, but I think it’ll be ok. I’ll just have to write a little larger.
I thought I might paint when I got home, but I didn’t. It was HOT. I watched “Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome” and sweated on the couch. It was so HOT.
…and today? Promises to be still hotter yet, if that’s even possible. Got bless Willis Carrier and all his disciples. We’d be living in the basement by now otherwise, and the dogs won’t go down those stairs, so they’d just have to stay upstairs and die, I reckon. Cats are a whole other issue – older one stays outdoors come heck or high water – he finds cool spots somewhere (!) – while younger cat (possible college material) wanders in if someone is home mid-day with that “Yea, well, maybe later on that” look on his fur and lingers until after dinner time before shooting out the door once more.
Do you need more fans? Assuming our A/C continues, we have a huge heavy floor fan with two blades and two lighter weight ones. Let us know!
There’s nothing like writing with a good pen. I have terrible handwriting, but I feel more like a mad genius when I’m writing with a nice pen.
I’m glad you’re staying inside when it’s so hot. Don’t risk heat stroke or heat exhaustion!
G2 is the pen of choice around here. It’s so smooth, and it comes in some fun colors, too!
