Flowers, Food, Film, and Fireworks

Yesterday morning I finally got a flower planted in Lloyd and Lauren’s garden. Samith gave it to me to plant there. It’s an orange coneflower. It fits in so nicely with the other coneflowers that were already there.

For lunch, Lloyd and I met Samith at a downtown restaurant that served African and Caribbean food. It was delicious. The sauces were particularly amazing. The woman who served us brought out all the sauces for us to try.

After lunch was a movie. My first post-covid movie! It was fun to do something so normal again. Nebraska is not doing masks in any stores or restaurants. That’s different from Maui, where masks are still everywhere. It’s been weird to not have a mask on in stores, but at the same time, it’s really nice.

In the evening, I went to Harold and Beth’s. We had pizza, then lit some fireworks, then went to the firework tent to get more fireworks, then lit some more. It was so fun!

Thank you for the flower, boys!

What a great day! I am glad you are getting to try new foods and hang out with old friends and family. 🙂

Did you guys go to Stur 22? I’ve been anxious to try it. The owner is an awesome Concordia grad. I’m a little nervous about the spices…
