Welcome to Brad's online memory archives.

One Hundred Sixty Thousand

It’s been a while since I made an odometer post. I missed 150,000 on my truck, so allow me to announce that my truck has made it to One Hundred Sixty Thousand. And thirteen. Oops. I missed straight zeros by a little.

And because I like to take a picture of where I am when these milestones happen, here it is – the stoplight at Kane Street, right in front of Queen Ka’ahumanu Mall:

Good job, old truck. You’re doing great! Keep it up!

Awww…. old trucks are the best trucks! Congratulations!

So, when people ask about how many miles are on a vehicle, when does the number start to become ‘a lot’? I never know about that. (I’ve never looked at my miles.)

Also, ‘milestones’ – heh. 🙂 So true, in this case.

I was going to write about that but forgot – it seems like when I was a kid, cars rarely made it to 100,000. Now the number seems much higher. I’m not even thinking about getting a new car, because it seems this one should last well beyond 200,000. I’ve heard of cars making the 300,000 mark.

Congratulations, Toyota Tacoma (that is the model, right?) – way to go!

The 13-year-old Forester Thurman still drives is supposed to last for 250K miles and has about 150K on it now. We’re keeping all of our axles crossed so we don’t have a second care payment every month.
