On Saturday while I was working out in the yard, I saw that my front planter freesias were blooming! Woo hoo!

And right next to the planter are my pots of tulips, which are also blooming! Yay!

Since I was so productive, and still had lots of day left, I went to some garden centers. I’m looking for a Japanese maple. I didn’t find one, but I did find a dwarf gingko. I love gingkos, and with a dwarf, I can keep it in a container in the back yard. Excellent!

I also got a syngonium. I was holding off, because there are so many varieties, and I am restricting myself to one. This wasn’t going to count, because the tag said “nephthytis”, and that’s not a syngonium, so I got it! But then when I got home and looked it up online, I found out that nephthytises ARE syngoniums. Shoot. My choice has been made. I was planning to get a ‘batik’, but instead I have a ‘pixie’. Still, I like this one. I’ll be curious to see what happens to the white areas as the leaves mature.

Wow – I guess spring has officially arrived! 🙂
