One of the ceiling lights in my kitchen stopped working shortly after I moved in. It has a weird ring-shaped fluorescent bulb, so I’ve delayed replacing it, because where the heck do you get weird ring-shaped fluorescent bulbs?
Recently, another one of the lights stopped working. Now I only had one light, so it was pretty dim in the kitchen. I finally decided to do some homework and find replacement bulbs on the internet. I found them and ordered them.
…and they don’t work.
I think it’s not the bulbs that have stopped working, it’s the ballasts. Dang.
Time for some replacement light fixtures I guess.
Arrrgh!! I am shaking my fist on your behalf. To go through all that trouble and they still don’t work? That is very frustrating, indeed,
Bummer…I think I remember those bulbs from my paternal grandparents’ kitchen. Glad they still make them but sorry they don’t work in yours.
For needlework I’ve had a magnifier lamp for ages already with a circle light because no shadow is cast on your work that way. Kitchen shadows don’t seem like a big deal, so new fixtures shouldn’t need to have those tricky-and-probably-not-inexpensive bulbs. Happy hunting there…
