Someone’s Coming

As a courtesy to boys who are in the bathroom, I have developed a habit of “accidentally” banging the door on my way in. At first, it was something I consciously thought about. I recently noticed that it is now an unconscious action.

First I slap the door as I push it open. I often use my right hand, which almost always has a ring on it. This makes the noise even louder. Then I kick the door as I walk forward. This makes an even louder noise. Then there is no doubt that someone is coming.

Why give warning? For the sake of shy bladders, loud toilet noises, or primping in the mirror, all of which can be embarrassing to a Middle School boy. I’m just polite like that.

Clack!

Thump!

I prefer to SNEAK into the girls’ bathroom! I LIKE to catch the girls primping – he, he! I think it’s cute.

Wait a minute … middle school boys primp?
I doubt it. My classroom smelled like wet dog yesterday after the boys returned from PE. Lots of them LOOKED like wet dog too!

I’s so glad I don’t have to use the same bathroom as the preschool girls. They’d always be peeking under the stall divider to see if I had on Cinderella underwear.

Did I write “I’s”? What am I? An LOLcat?

        “I’s” HA!

That is very polite of you!! I hope the boys extend the same courtesy to you!!!

I could mention yet another reason to be sure young males knew an adult was suddenly present, but we’re in mixed company here and all so never mind. Ahem.

I second the “that is very polite of you”, sir. Now have you actually captured any post-primping body language as a result, that’s the question.
