Welcome to Brad's online memory archives.

Section 31

Happy Birthday to my niece Anna! Yay!

After two uneventful flights, I’ve safely arrived in Arlington, Nebraska. The only weird thing about this trip was a connection through Houston. Usually I connect through Detroit or Minneapolis or Chicago, all of which are flights of about 2 hours. Houston to Baltimore is three hours and forty minutes. Yikes!

Anyway, I slept like a dead man last night. It was glorious! After a wonderful breakfast of scrambled eggs and toast (mmm… toast…), I needed to post for the day. Searching for wireless signals produced something interesting:

I couldn't connect to the unnamed network unless I knew its name.

What the heck is Section 31? And what is it doing hiding here in sleepy little Arlington, Nebraska?

I don’t know, but I bet it’s connected to Area 51 in some way.

(Yikes, you’ve probably stumbled upon some top, top, secret government site…(where else do they hide out expcept in tiny western towns)…if you disappear, thanks to your archives we’ll at least know where to begin looking.)

[“Let’s see – I can choose the ‘Security-enabled network’ or the ‘Unsecured network’. Ah, heck – why not walk on the wild side and try the unsecured one this time?!” Who would purposefully choose…?]

…and please don’t say “slept like a dead man” when you went home for a funeral, Brad. Jibblie.

…and Happy Birthday to Anna! Several of our students told me today was their birthday as well…and one’s Mom, too…and the 3rd anniversary of the death of another’s grandmother…definitely a memorable date for reasons beyond the news of 8 years ago.

      Today’s my dad’s birthday, too!

I’m glad you made it in one piece, despite your tiny planes. See you when you get here.
