My co-worker Angie brought her newborn baby to school yesterday afternoon. I’ve seen newborns before, but still couldn’t get over how tiny she was. She was smaller than a cat. Michele held her for a while because Angie was getting some papers ready for her sub. Michele said that if everybody just held a baby for 20 minutes each day, they would be a lot less stressed out.
I tried to get a picture of Magdalyn’s finger because it was so freaky small. She kept curling her hand back into a fist. The resulting picture is funny. It looks like she’s pressing down on my finger.
Holy cats – that is an adorable picture! It kills me that there are impossibly tiny ruffles behind that hand, too. Also, ‘Magdalyn’ is a pretty dang cool name.
It reminded me of “ET phone home!”
Curling her hand back into a fist prepares her for all of the Rusty Rice’s of the world. I think it’s on the developmental checklist.
Hold a baby for 20 minutes a day?!? What? When our kids were babies and one of us held him/her, we were sound asleep in about 5 minutes and who knows how long we’d be out! I agree that it will lower your blood pressure, but babies suck all the energy out of you! 😉
