Fieldstones II: The Return

When my parents and I went to the beach on Saturday, the destination wasn’t the only treat that day. On the way, we enjoyed a lot of beautiful scenery. We were talking about sight-seeing somewhere else, and I wondered out loud about going to Pennsylvania, where I just so happened to know about a place that had some fieldstones I could take. My parents understood my thinly-veiled hint, and were kind enough to go along with it. Yay! Thanks, Mom and Dad!

The drive was very pretty. The view out the car window kept looking like a painting. And when we arrived, I was not disappointed in regard to the rocks. There were many beautiful specimens. My dad maneuvered the truck, while my mom and I picked rocks. My mom joked that on Saturday we picked crabs and yesterday we picked rocks. 🙂 I wanted more rocks than we loaded, but I was worried about overloading the truck. I am particularly excited to have gotten an especially large rock loaded into the truck. It will have a place of honor in my garden.

Gorgeous!

My parents fly back to Nebraska today. It has been an AWESOME visit. I’m so glad they came!

I’m so excited about the rocks! Also that your new tires held up and didn’t pop out in the field! (That would have been awkward with your parents along.)

That picture is great – I see you and your dad, but where’s your mom?

She was standing off to the right side of the truck after loading some rocks! She even helped me with the large rock! She’s crazy!

We laughed about how we searched for rocks in the same manner — Step One: Check for snakes. Hehe…

…and if you ever need just a little filler rock: our front yard is still not graded after the big house-lifting debaucle, but some bricks, rocks, etc., were unearthed. Help ya’self…

Sorry I missed the parental units – glad you all had a great visit, though! (What?! No posting of enflamed falling airplanes for them??)
