When Cheap is Bad

When we went on our field trip at school, since we were going to be outside and near the water, and since the forecast called for rain, I brought a box of cheap trash bags along. I figured the kids could use them for rain ponchos. There were only about five kids who took a trash bag, so I had lots left over. When the day was over, I put them with my other trash bags at home. Yesterday was trash day and was the first time I used one of the new trash bags.

My trash collectors don’t dump trash cans; they lift the bags out of the cans and toss them into the truck. When they pulled on the handle of my cheap bag full of heavy cat litter scoopings, the bag broke, and all the trash and cat litter fell to the bottom of my trash can. The trash collectors thoughtfully left the lid open on my trash can so the rain showers yesterday could soak everything real nicely. So now my trash can is full of soggy trash and cat litter. Awesome.

I chose not to deal with it yesterday.

Oh, my stars!!!! Your community makes me crazy! What with the vandalism, attempted theft and crazy trash pick-up, how do you stay sane? Grrrrrrrrrr.

I am sorry for your wet trash. You get all the sympathy today. 🙁 ‘Boooooooooo’ trash collectors.

[warning, this comment specifically designed to raise Brad’s blood pressure 15 points] Can’t you just switch to another trash company?

Making “lemonade” out of soggy cat litter a bag of “lemons”: well, now you can accurately assess exactly how absorbant that litter is, no?

…seriously…sorry. Not nice. “Dislike” (as the social media might put it).

    Dang. That stinks!

Will your trash collectors take the bags if they’re not in the trash cans? You could always try this:

I read your post title and thought it said, “Cheap is BRAD.” Oops.
