After church, I happened to see someone eating bruschetta on TV. It looked delicious, so I went to my favorite Italian restaurant – Bertucci’s. As it turns out, they don’t have bruschetta right now. But I wasn’t too disappointed – it seems like bruschetta never tastes as good as it looks. What I got instead was caprise salad (a salad with tomatoes and fresh mozzarella). I have often gotten this with chicken, as they suggest on the menu. But this time, I asked for steak, because I really like their steak. I don’t know what cut they use, but the steak they top their salads with is some of the tenderest and tastiest I’ve had in Baltimore. It’s absolutely delicious! I always chew it with my eyes closed so I can focus more attention on how good it is.
It looks delicious! How much does something like that cost?
Too bad they couldn’t scoop the steak with a melon baller and roll up the lettuce into little orbs. That would be a salad to see!
It was sixteen dollars. Kind of pricey for a salad, but not bad for dinner.
Drat! We almost went to Bertucci’s before seeing Lorax yesterday – hit Red Lobster instead. There would have been multiple benefits: husband loves the mozarella-basil-and-tomato experience ever since our trip to Italy several summers ago…who doesn’t like a tender, juicy cut of beef?…we could have seen you, enjoying said salad and tender, juicy cut of beef. Sadly, seafood won yesterday and we missed all this – but now that we know they have this on their menu…….
That’s a proper portion size for steak, isn’t it? The size of a deck of cards?
I love a good steak, and with your splendid endorsement, I’m going to have to try this….but in a regular salad. The only steak dinner you can get at Bertucci’s is filet mignon….do you suppose that’s the cut they’re using?
Oddly enough, I ate at Bertucci’s this weekend too–but had pizza. And I grilled steak on the grill last night. It was good!
