Welcome to Brad's online memory archives.

New Paper Towels

Without any announcement or fanfare, we’ve switched over to new paper towels in the bathroom at school. I love them! We used to have the brown paper kind – you know, where you feel like you’re drying your hands with a grocery bag? And when you’re trying to wipe something off the floor, it’s like using a cardboard box to soak up the liquid. I don’t know who invented the brown paper kind of paper towels, but I think he or she was a sadist.

What we have now are gloriously soft and absorbent white paper towels. It’s like drying your hands on a kitten. I have to consciously refrain from making noises when I use them because I like them so much.

I don’t know if this is permanent, or if someone made a mistake during the last paper towel order. Whatever it is, I’m going to enjoy it as long as it lasts.

Behold their glory!

I’ll see your *guffaw* and raise you a *chuckle*. Don’t make people laugh when they’re drinking hot tea, Brad. … drying your hands on a kitten…

Our paper towels at school are kind of a hybrid of the two. They are brown, but have that textured thing going on so they are softer than the other kind.

…and I dunno WHAT you’re talkin’ ’bout, ‘cuz the used-to-be-brown-now-bleached towels in the ladies’ restroom here still feel stiff and non-absorbant and how the heck would you know what soft, fluffy kitties feel like when a naked cat has always lived at your house?!

But I rejoice with you over whatever experience this gives you, at least.

HAHAHA!! We still have the grocery store kind at my work.

Here’s hoping that however you got them, it continues…..or you find a soft kitten living in the boys bathroom.
