Welcome to Brad's online memory archives.

Cool! Hot!

My mom had read about my visit to the swap meet. She wanted to go there too. It’s only open on Saturdays, so yesterday was the day to go.

The entrance.

The entrance.

We got a few things – mostly food. My dad found a bench to sit at, and talked with three different Canadians. Maybe it was Canada Day at the swap meet, and we didn’t know it. The parking lot has the weirdest mulch I’ve ever seen. It’s made of glass!

It wasn't sharp at all.

After the swap meet, we went to my favorite restaurant here – IHOP. Mmm… Then we drove south of Kihei to see the end of the road down there. The last part of the road passes through an old lava flow. It was really cool. It looked like the moon or something.

The road was narrow.

The road was narrow.

Pictures had a hard time capturing the landscape, so I did a panoramic picture. HERE it is.

After school on Friday, we found out that my co-worker Adam played in a band, and that his band was playing yesterday at a place in Ma’alaea Harbor. We went to listen to him. We couldn’t go into the restaurant because there was a fund-raiser happening, and it was expensive. We listened from outside. It was good music… very relaxing. Adam is in the middle:

Wheeee!! Electric ukes! Yet another reason why Hawaii is paradise. I wonder if John’s vision in the Bible was really of Hawaii – streets paved with glass/gold & all. Keep on relaxing, Royuks!

Another reason why Hawaii is so amazing to me….such vastly different landscapes. But dang, I can’t open the panoramic view. It says Oops, Explorer cannot connect. 🙁

And that one picture must have both Lauren & Lloyd swooning, what with the electric uke & those awesome shirts!

Have a Happy St. Patty’s Sunday!

There seems to be a problem with the 360 website. I can’t load the page either.

It’s good times all around when a staff member plays in a band outside of school and you get to go listen every so often. One of the guidance folks and a math teacher at LHN in Chicago back in my day played and sang in a bluegrass band out west on Friday nights and we’d often hang out there to listen to them. Great memories. Maybe next time you can afford to actually go in, sit a spell, and get some electric ukelele lessons to boot.
