Today is my Half Birthday! Woo hoo! I am 43.5 today. Yay!
I continue to sort through the cleaned textiles from my house. Mostly, the stuff is really clean – some of it is cleaner than it’s been in a long, long time. A lot of the items are clothes, but I am running across a lot of other things as well.
My most interesting items so far are the rugs from the upstairs bathroom. For whatever reason, that bathroom had some of the heaviest soot in the house. The all-white rugs were completely covered.
The soot didn’t come all the way clean. Instead of being all white, the rugs now have various shades of yellow and grey on them. I think it looks like fur of some kind now. Polar bear? I kind of like it, but I won’t be using them in the bathroom.
It bothers me a little that the symbols on my socks both point to the left..
That is a bummer. I wonder if you could dye your un-white rugs?
Or perhaps cut them into a bear-like shape?

I think that is the longest bathroom rug I’ve ever seen. Are you sure it isn’t a polar bear rug?
As for your socks….I don’t know how you can stand to look at them. Ya know, you could just wear them on the opposite foot?
I realize no matter what foot you put them on, they’ll still face the same way. One inside out should work. Or cut out those symbols & have Lauren darn them.
