Black Cling

I spent a chunk of yesterday trying to get my aquarium up and running. It involved cleaning a lot of stuff, since it was used. Before I can fill the tank with water, I want to put a black background on the back wall. That way, I’ll be able to admire the shiny fish better. My problem was that I couldn’t find a clinging background. All the aquarium stores had were backgrounds that I was supposed to tape on the back of the tank. What to do?

As I was in Home Depot shopping for some tubing I needed, inspiration struck. I went to the window treatments aisle and checked out the window cling products that look like stained glass. I had to find out: do they offer black? Yes. Yes, they do.

Anybody need some black window cling? I have five feet left.

By the time I got the film stuck onto the outside of the tank, it was night time. I had to continue the project another day.

Good thinking! I admire your resourcefulness, and it looks like Gus does, too.

Can’t you unload that extra cling in the free section of Craigslist?

Clever choice! I can’t wait to see the finished product….those fish & plants are gonna look great against that background!

And maybe you could use the extra black cling stuff at Halloween. Wrap it around your head, add a hat & voila……The Invisible Man!

I still have some of the plants from your old tank if you want them. They are very healthy and grow like crazy.
