A Sizzling Deal

On Thursday, I stopped at Lowe’s next to my school. They had an awesome sale going on in their garden center. Among the plants for sale were several Chinese fringe flower bushes. ‘Ever Red’ has been the recent favorite variety, but I don’t like it, because the flowers are too dark, and there isn’t enough of a contrast with the leaves. But this Lowe’s had ‘Sizzling Pink’. I was so excited!

I decided not to get them right away. I would walk away, and see if I still wanted them later.

“Later” was yesterday. I went after school. They were still there. I still wanted them. There were six remaining bushes. I got them all. At checkout, I found out they were only $5 each. Woo hoo!

I will replace my old barberry bushes with these.

They flower heavily in spring, then repeat intermittently the rest of the summer.

You are charmed! Way to score a deal on beautiful flowers, sir.

Home Depot seems to be good therapy. (I am going there today.)
