I was going to work on my porch yesterday, but I also wanted to drive past some leaves while the fall colors were still out. The leaves won. I decided to go to Pennsylvania. They have excellent fall leaves up there. It was hard to get pictures through the car window, but here they are:

In the evening, I went to the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Friends from church had an extra ticket, and asked me along. It was selections from The Nutcracker, but the director stopped in between pieces and talked about Tchaikovsky or about the instrumentation or the story line. It was really interesting.
They were good seats.
Right next to the symphony hall is the downtown Greek Orthodox church. They are having a Greek Festival this weekend. Awesome! I walked through the crowd looking for former students. I didn’t see any, but I did enjoy the music and dancing. I also got some loukoumades. Mmm… They’re fried dough balls soaked in honey.
Clapping along with the music was contagious.

That day had so much packed into it, it’s like a week-long vacation! You’ve gotta see those leaves while they’re still on the trees – porches can wait.
Why is it that people will pack the gym for a sporting event, but they have a hard time going to a fantastic musical concert?

Oh my! I sooo enjoyed the fall pictures! The leaves are gorgeous! I am trying to imagine what the air feels like on a crisp autumn day! Thank you SO MUCH for sharing! We just had our Pumpkin Festival last week. Our pumpkin patch was underneath the palm trees in the front of the church. We try our best, but nothing can take the place of a real fall day on the mainland! Please enjoy some hot apple cider for me!
