When I took my truck in to have the antenna replaced, I also had an oil change and a tire rotation. It seemed like maybe it was a mistake, because after the tire rotation, whenever I got to highway speeds, my truck would shimmy and my steering wheel would shake. Something was wrong.
A week passed before I got it to my regular shop yesterday. I didn’t want to take it back to the place that had messed it up. My guys said they could do a wheel balance and an alignment for $200. Ugh. But what was I gonna do? I needed to fix it.
After the guy looked at it, he said my two front tires were worn. He said the worn tires were causing the shimmy. I decided I would just get new tires. They were $350 for both. Ugh.
Fortunately, getting new tires meant not doing some of the other stuff, and getting some additional discounts. Woo hoo! The total wasn’t $550, it was only $350 Woo hoo!
I didn’t go driving on the interstate last night, so hopefully this morning I will find out that the shimmy is gone and my beautiful new tires are doing their job.
UPDATE: No wobble! Such a smooth ride to school today! Yay!
Ah! New tires! I’m glad that worked.
Hallelujah! I’d say it was money well spent. 🙂
