Unnecessary Mark

I often use my phone to remind me to do things. Yesterday I told it to remind me to get posterboards so I could make some signs for next Monday, when my homeroom will lead the all-school assembly in the morning. The kids don’t really seem to know what to say during the responsive parts of the assembly, so I want to make some cue cards.

But I was dismayed to see that my phone put an apostrophe on posterboards. Possessive? I didn’t say: “Remind me to get some posterboard’s wallet.” I said: “Remind me to get posterboards.” Where did that apostrophe come from?

Awful.

Awful.

Yes. Lloyd sent me a text saying I missed “Sunday’s with Samith”. Stupid auto’correct’. It made me realize people aren’t doing it on purpose, but now they will think that is the correct way to do it. *sigh*
