Dresser Done

I have needed a dresser for a while now. I have seen a few on Craigslist, but they were priced too high, and they were usually pretty big (and therefore heavy).

I decided to go with a small dresser from Walmart. It was cheap(er) than the Craigslist ones, and it was made of particle board, so it was relatively light.

It has taken me FOREVER to get it assembled. The packaging and instructions made it look like it would be an IKEA-like assembly. It was not. Total time spent was something more than three hours (over the course of several days). Sheesh! In the end, it would probably have been better to just get something from Craigslist.

But putting my clothes in a dresser instead of piling them on cardboard boxes sure changes the look of my bedroom.

BEFORE

AFTER

Conventional design guidelines would suggest that I put the dresser against the wall to the left, but Gus likes to sit in that window, so I’m giving him a nice big surface. For now, I’ll leave boxes next to the dresser as a booster up to the dresser top.

Nice work! I am proud of you! You’re looking out for Gus, too, which earns you extra ‘Awwwwww’ points. He is a lucky cat!

Also, I see your Aloha shirt collection is growing.
