Bad News, Good News

I took my truck to the mechanic yesterday. It had three things I needed looked at.
Number one: there’s been the smell of exhaust in the cab lately. I experienced that problem years ago with some bad results. I needed to address it immediately.
Number two: my breaks have been squeaking a lot. I just had them changed before I moved here, so it seemed like they would be okay still, but who knows with breaks?
Number three: I needed to change the oil.

I dropped my truck at the mechanic, and walked to school (they’re close to each other). On the way, I stopped for breakfast at a diner I have passed by a lot, but never gone into. It was a delicious diner breakfast.

When I got to school, I thought I would work and get a lot done, but it’s not close enough to the first day back to school yet. My progress was slow and pitiful.

After a longer time than I was expecting, the mechanic shop called.
Number one: They said there was a leaky seal, and oil was dripping onto something hot and making the smell. They didn’t have the part to fix the leak, but they ordered it. I’ll go back next week.
Number two: the breaks are fine. Three-quarters of the pad thickness is left. Yay!
Number three: They did the oil change. Easy-peasy.

I walked back to pick up the truck, and headed home.

Whew! I am glad you don’t have to pay thousands of dollars for truck repairs! Didn’t you have carbon monoxide issues with your truck before? I’m glad this is fixable.

That diner looks cool – like a movie set.

    Have a great Thursday! 🙂
