I had kind of a low-key day yesterday, but one of the high points was a visit to the Maui Tropical Plantation. It’s definitely a tourist kind of place, but I really like it. It’s a beautiful place. And it has that pond full of fish and ducks that you can feed for only two dollars! Yay!
I have said this before, but I always consider it a successful visit if a kingfisher gets a fish. When I first arrived, a kingfisher caught a fish, but it happened too fast, and I only saw the gulp. I moved on to another spot and another kingfisher. I threw the food in front of it, and… success!
Wow! That is a great action shot – it looks like the bird has a fish for a head! I can see why he’s royalty. 🙂
