Welcome to Brad's online memory archives.

Woo hoo! Dang.

I finally got to a house Project yesterday! I decided to install the ceiling fan in the computer room. I tried to do it back in December, but the brace-bar kit I bought was missing pieces. That took the wind out of my sails big time. Six months later, I tried again.

My new brace-bar kit had all the pieces! Woo hoo! But I the new hole I cut in the ceiling meant the old hole had to be patched and I didn’t have any patching compound. Dang. I turned off the power before messing with the electrical wires! Woo hoo! But I didn’t have a testing device to find out which wire was ‘hot’. Dang. The stuff I was doing didn’t require any fancy tools! Woo hoo! But my basic tools are scattered all over the house because I lost my old toolbox in the Sewage Incident of ’09. Dang.

I went to Home Depot to get the stuff I needed! Woo hoo!
They're so colorful!

I had to stop working and wait for the patching compound to dry. Dang.

This post is a roller-coaster of thrills! (Much better than Green Lantern.) Will Brad finish the project today? Will the hot wire testing device be defective? Will the latches on the toolbox open and close correctly? Tune in tomorrow…….

…and when he finishes this Amazing Project, will he want to continue his ceiling drywall patching skills practice on some friends’ kitchen ceiling sheetrock that has (again!) been damaged by a leaky condensate pipe from the A/C air handler in their attic? (No harm in askin’…) ……..nah, didn’t think so……

Sounds exactly like our Sunday afternoon ceiling fan project that turned into a week long “dang … woo hoo” project. Stupid 100 year old houses!
However, the cool breeze blowing down my back as I type this comment makes it all seem worth it. (Don’t ask my husband if it was worth it!)

I like the title of this post. May I borrow it for my autobiography, or should I stick with The Barnacles of Life?

Nice tool box…..do men get as excited about a new tool box as women do over a new purse?

I was a little worried that toolboxes would be super-expensive. This one was only $7. Woo hoo! (And there’s no ‘dang’, so far as I can tell.) I wanted one with little compartments in the lid because that’s what my old one was like. I can keep nut, bolts, and nails in the lid, and all the basic tools inside. Nice.

The “Dang.” would come if/when the lid would spring open at the least opportune or desired moment, spewing forth assorted screws, nuts, or – heaven forbid – brads…ahem…

It could be a title/subtitle kind of thing:
    Woo Hoo! Dang.
