Yesterday the eighth grade went to our local Lutheran high school. Our main goal was to have a community-building joint packing session of Operation Christmas Child boxes, but since we were there, we visited some classrooms and had some mini-lessons with the teachers.
We did an art lesson:
We re-assembled some tower computers. (I don’t have a picture of this one that I can post)
And we built some organic compounds.
It was really fun. I had to leave before the boxing activities began. I had to get back by noon to start the first of our two days of parent-teacher conferences.
That child is using a permanent marker! Oh, wait – they’re older and responsible. I forget those kind of people exist.
What a cool experience for those kids! I’ve often thought that it was important for teachers to see other schools, but I never thought about other students visiting, too. Kudos!
