Furniture Road Trip Part Two

Last Saturday, Denis and I went to Ocean City to get some furniture from a friend of his. We didn’t have enough room in the truck for a bed she wanted to get rid of, so we went back yesterday.

Like last time, we left at 5:30am. Like last time, the traffic was was light. Unlike last time, instead of going to the boardwalk, we went to the outlet stores. It was fun to walk and look at things, but I didn’t get anything. The most interesting store for me was the “As Seen on TV” store. There were many crazy products there. I had to take a picture of the weirdest thing: a corset that apparently turns you into a creepy-looking smiling girl with an impossibly small waist.

Yikes!

Yikes!

The bed we brought back is really cool. Denis decided to put it in his room. It goes with an antique dresser he already has in there.

It's not old-old, but it is made of solid wood and has a classic look.

Denis was going to put his other bed in the basement for storage, but I was worried that the damp air might not be good for the mattress. I suggested putting it in the computer room. It’s mostly an unused room anyway, so having a bed in there all the time won’t interfere with anything.

It will block the Murphy bed for now.

Well, at least if our house is ever fumigated, burns down, or floods, we know where we can get comfy lodging for the night.

Nice new bed – and yes, that contraption for slimming always gives me the creeps as well. Sorta reminds me of Scarlett O’Hara’s corset in the Gone with the Wind movie. How can one breathe wearing that thing?

That is a beautiful new bed. If you combined the old mattress with the murphy bed, would you have some sort of super-bed?

P.S. That girl is going to have some digestion issues.
