The first April I lived here, the tree in front of my building had been pollarded. The trim job left it with no blooms.
This April, the tree is blooming. It’s beautiful!
The view from my lanai is also gorgeous. It’s spring!

Pollarding is when all of a tree’s branches are chopped off. There’s a picture of this tree right after the procedure in this post:
