Welcome to Brad's online memory archives.

What Lloyd’s Been Waiting For

I haven’t been able to post today because the stinkin’ business center at my fancy-schmancy hotel isn’t open on Saturdays. What, don’t people do business on Saturdays? I asked the concierge if there was an internet cafe nearby. There was. In fact it was just around the block. But it didn’t open until 11am. Dang! So then I was going to walk around and check out some of the stores around my hotel, but they didn’t open until 9am. Criminy! What’s all this about “The City that Never Sleeps”? Does that not apply to Saturday morning?

I’m in the internet cafe now, racing against the clock to post so I don’t have to pay for more than half an hour. I’ll do a proper New York post tomorrow. For now, I have to post about what I discovered in my messenger bag this morning. I was trying to re-pack it because the car can stay in the garage until 3, but check out was at 12, so I have to carry my bag until then.

While re-packing, I found a little present that Lloyd must’ve slipped into my bag at Christmas. Or was it last summer? Pretty sneaky, Lloyd. I’ll be watching this tonight when I get home.

Here is where I would put a picture of the “Paint Your Wagon” DVD I found in my bag this morning if this internet cafe didn’t suck. The computer is really old and there isn’t any good picture manipulation software on it. There’s an old version of Paint, but it only saves in bitmap format, which WordPress won’t accept. Where am I, some third-world country?

“Paint Your Wagon” is Lloyd’s favorite movie ever. It’s a musical with Clint Eastwood. He sings even. It’s surreal. I’ll lend it to you sometime if you want to watch it. I have it on DVD now!

I’m home now:
They call the wind Mariah...

Ha! He’s watching the middle school girl’s basketball games now, but he’ll be THRILLED to hear that you found it!

What the heck are you doing in New York, you crazy nut?

  2. Lloyd

I wondered if you were (a) just refusing to to acknowledge its existence, or (b) if you had found it and cleverly hid it somewhere in our house before you left.

Also, the city has to sleep sometime.

I think it’s a conspiracy against you and your Priceline bargain. The whole city is making sure you don’t get more than you actually paid for!

Yay…no nuclear activity in TimesSquare…thanks for throwing us a bone. Have fun!

    Yay–you’re alive & well!

Lloyd, that is hilarious what you did! I can’t believe Brad just now found it. And are you just kidding about liking that movie Lloyd, ’cause I really do like it. I haven’t seen it in forever, but I remember really liking it … for a musical Western.

    • Lloyd

      It’s the Sommerer family movie.

        *sigh* Yes. Yes it is.

(Did I mention that my maiden name is Hofman?)

In third world countries they have new computers with the latest software versions on them. And a few macs just for fun. (Just don’t ask me where the software came from!)

Y’know, you think the US is more advanced… and then you leave the country!
