It’s really hot here. Not that I know what normal weather here is like, but lots of people are saying it. And, it is actually hot. It’s been in the triple digits in much of the area. I’m a little closer to the ocean, so in my neighborhood it’s only been in the upper nineties.
The power grid has been having a hard time keeping up, so the government has been asking people to reduce their power consumption. Yesterday, they even sent an alert out to everyone’s phone:
I’m thankful that my classroom has air conditioning. Some schools around here don’t. Yikes!
Yikes, indeed! I guess that’s the time of day with everyone coming home in the evenings and turning on all their house electronics and cranking the a/c? I know there are things to do like run dishwashers and washing machines/dryers overnight to ease the strain. Yikes.
