I did my classroom bulletin board yesterday. I had been putting it off, I think, because once I’ve done the bulletin board, school starts. I was in denial. But I have at least been doing other smaller jobs this past week, so that’s good. Now that I’ve done the bulletin board, I have to do the harder stuff.
Our school’s verse for the year is the verse that was chosen for National Lutheran Schools Week – John 15:5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” I used a technique from a previous bulletin board – I photocopied kids’ faces from a past yearbook, and used them as part of the design.
My imagery mixes the metaphors a little. In this design, the kids are the fruit instead of the branches. I don’t think it completely confuses the message though. And the kids will have fun finding themselves in the grapes.
Your bulletin boards should win awards (hmmm..a poem!) Seriously!
BTW, my confirmation verse was John 15:5 and has been the foundational truth in my life ever since. Blessings on your new year!
That is wonderful! I think the kids will love that you made them a part of the display. <3. You really do amazing work, Brad!
