Jingle

I put my Christmas decorations away this past weekend, but yesterday I realized I’ve left one out: the jingle bells on the doorknob of my front door. It’s a happy sound when I come in the door, and it lets Max know I’m home. He’s getting better at greeting me at the door. He used to come running when I came home because I would give him a piece of beef right away, but he’s gotten a little chunky, so I’ve cut out the snacks. Now he just comes running so he can look at me and run and try to get me to chase him. Sometimes it works.

Anyway, I’m leaving the bells on for now. I like them. Maybe when it’s Easter and there’s still a Christmas decoration on my door I’ll feel silly and take it down. Or maybe I’ll leave it all year round.

I still have some jingle bells, too. And some christmas teddy bears. And the nativity scenes…

If you’d hang Max from your doorknob, he’d be right there when you came home – no chasing involved.

Not by his neck, of course – that would just be silly.

That’s what his tail is for.

The above comment was stuck in moderation all day.

I’m replying to it so everyone can watch the movie. It’s not Rick Astley and it’s not a link to a picture of brain maggots. It’s a 30 second funny.

But do you get it? It’s Max asking “Where’s the beef?” He may like you…but I’m sure he loves the beef, that he’s not getting!

Your explanation was funnier than the movie. 🙂

I don’t want to see a picture of the bells doofus!
I want to see a picture of Max greeting you! Geez!

Yes. Yes, you have. My apologies.
